Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Animal Photography: Capture high-quality images of animals under Mandai’s care, as well as wild and free-ranging animals in their natural habitats, using professional photography equipment. This includes documenting animal care routines and staff in action during animal handling, training, husbandry, and veterinary care, ensuring accurate, ethical and appropriate representation of animal care practices.

• Lifestyle and Editorial Photography: Capture education events, staff events & trainings, campaigns, participants’ experiences, as well as key park elements, including exhibits, venues, and building features. Images will be used for yearbooks, educational signage, websites, videos, education programmes, events, and other education-related materials.

• Photo Editing: Edit and enhance photographs using Adobe Photoshop to ensure professional standards and visual consistency while maintaining the natural appearance of animals.

• File Management: Organise, archive, and catalogue photo assets systematically for easy access, efficient retrieval, and long-term use.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the Education team and other departments to understand project needs and deliver required content. Coordinate directly with Animal Care, and Animal Behaviour & Programme staff to understand animal behaviour, optimise photography opportunities, and ensure safe and efficient coordination during animal-related shoots.

• Project Management: Manage photography assignments from planning and capturing images, through to selection, editing, and delivery, according to project requirements. Liaise with and manage external production or post-production companies for photography or creative projects.

• Perform other relevant photography-related or departmental duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 
• Proven experience in professional photography, ideally involving animals or within a zoo or wildlife setting, supported by a strong and relevant portfolio.

• Strong technical proficiency in professional digital camera systems, a range of lenses, lighting equipment and other photography accessories.

• Strong understanding of animal behaviour and the ability to work safely, respectfully, and confidently around animals.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, with strong photo editing and post-processing skills.

• A creative eye for detail, composition, visual storytelling, and photographic quality.

• Ability to translate briefs and communication objectives into effective visual concepts and photographic outcomes.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, as well as independently when required.

• Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail.

• Strong initiative and confidence in proactively engaging staff, particularly Life Sciences teams, to identify opportunities, coordinate shoots, and ensure work is completed efficiently.

• Willingness and ability to work outdoors, including in varying weather conditions.
