Junior Veterinarian, Vet Healthcare - Bird Paradise (6 Months Contract)

Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses, keepers, and veterinarians to deliver high-quality clinical and patient care
Engage actively with veterinary students to provide clinical training, mentorship, and practical guidance
Assist the wider veterinary team in executing comprehensive preventive medicine programs, including quarantine protocols, routine exams, vaccinations, and geriatric care.
Diagnose illnesses and administer appropriate treatments for collection animals, actively consulting senior clinicians for guidance on complex cases.
Participate in dialogues with curators and supervisors regarding animal welfare, nutrition, and husbandry, and collaborate on clinical cases as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues and medical specialists/consultants on clinical cases as needed
Perform basic gross necropsies with diagnostic sampling, prepare accurate clinical and necropsy records, and fulfill other operational duties as requested.
Job Requirements:
Internationally recognised degree in Veterinary Medicine
At least 1 year of general practice and 6 months of relevant zoological veterinary experience (preferrable)
Fundamental knowledge of zoological veterinary medicine with the ability to perform basic diagnoses, nutritional analyses, treatments, and routine surgical procedures.
Ability to manage routine clinical cases independently while demonstrating the self-awareness and professional judgment to seek second opinions from senior staff when problems or conditions exceed your individual expertise.
Must demonstrate initiative, a strong interest in wildlife conservation, and excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Able to work effectively in a multi-cultural team environment, including weekends, holidays, occasional after-hour assignments, and across multiple locations.
