Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.
The Performing Artist is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality performances that support educational messaging, guest experience, and programme objectives. The role combines performance skills with storytelling, audience interaction, and collaboration with animal trainers and programme teams to create memorable and meaningful experiences for guests
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging live performances aligned with programme themes, storytelling, and conservation messaging.
2. Interact confidently with diverse audiences, enhancing guest engagement and participation.
3. Maintain high standards of professionalism, stage presence, and performance quality, and adapt performances based on audience demographics, crowd size, and operational needs.
4. Actively contributes to team discussions and development of new programme ideas.
5. Participate in rehearsals, script development, and programme enhancements.
6. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene to all show venues and backstages, and workspaces in accordance with biosecurity and workplace safety requirements.
7. Report maintenance and facility improvement needs related to show venues, and repair of equipment to ensure safe and functional environments.
8. Maintain a professional demeanour and represent the zoo positively in all public‑facing interactions, reinforcing institutional values and conservation ethics.
9. Attend daily briefings and departmental meetings to remain informed of operational changes, safety protocols, and special events.
10. Participate in animal presentations and programmes as a performer, animal handler, or backstage support, ensuring smooth operations, animal well‑being, and guest safety.
11. Support to maintain animal husbandry duties, and animal welfare and animal enrichment programmes
12. Other relevant duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
1. ITE, GCE O Level or Higher (or similar overseas academic certifications)
2. Background in performing arts, theatre, education, or related field (preferred)
3. Experience in live shows, public speaking, or entertainment roles is an advantage
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Confident, outgoing personality, customer oriented.
6. Pro-active, creative, resourceful and a good team.
7. Work independently, multi-task in fast environment.
8. Must be physically fit.
